Fort Dummer State Park, 517 Old Guilford Rd. Guilford, VT
The Guilford Recreation Commission is offering Free Fort Dummer State Park Day Passes for Guilford residents to encourage outdoor recreation!
The park has many resources for Guilford residents. There is a ball field equipped with a volleyball/badminton net, a wiffle ball field, a horseshoe pit, 3 disc golf nets and several grills and picnic tables. The park has restrooms, and firewood can be purchased if you’d like to use one of the fire pits in the field.
In addition, there are some hiking trails that are great for families or anyone looking for an easy walk in nature. Enjoy walking on 3 trails:
Sunset Trail -- 0.5 miles of gentle sloped trail starting near the entrance looping through the ball field in Guilford, with a view of Algiers, and the Broad Brook Valley.
Sunrise Trail -- 1.0 miles of gently sloped wooded trail on the Vernon portion of the park, that includes views of the river valley.
Broad Brook Trail — 0.5 miles of very steep sloped trail from the campground to the swimming hole on the Broad Brook in Guilford. NOTE: This swimming hole can be accessed from Broad Brook Road also.

Fort Dummer State park was awarded The Best State Park in South Eastern VT in 2019 and it is a local resource for outdoor recreation in Guilford.
Due to Covid-19 restriction, the Park is unable to issue day use equipment this year. However, the ball field is equipped with a volleyball/badminton net, a wiffle ball field, a horseshoe pit, 3 disc golf nets and several grills. So, bring your own equipment to enjoy these facilities. Restrooms are on site.
